Senior Stylist / Co-owner
Christina, a home-grown North Vancouverite, is co-owner of the.dye.lot. After graduating amidst the top of her class from the Hair Art Design Program at John Casablancas Institute, Christina has continued to excel at both cutting and colouring hair. She has been a hair stylist for the past 10 years, spending three years at Vancouver’s Axis Salon prior to opening the.dye.lot. A businesswoman at heart, Christina also co-created Hair 101, which specializes in tutorials that show her clients how to do hair like a pro.
Either in the salon or teaching Hair 101 classes, Christina’s favourite part of the job is working with people and helping them love their hair again. She thrives off the rewarding connection with her clients and is pleasantly surprised by the recognition that the.dye.lot receives.FUN FACT: She’ll always choose FASHION over FUNCTION. Every time.
Master Stylist / Co-owner
Born and raised in North Vancouver, Caitlin trained at Vancouver Community College, taking her skills with her to three North Vancouver salons before joining the.dye.lot. Even when backpacking through Europe, Caitlin took along her scissors and was cutting hair in hostels.
A stylist since 2004, Caitlin has grown a loyal clientele who return for great hair and for some quality time with this easy-going gal. She’s extraordinary with colour, but blowing out tresses and creating a beautiful finished product is what makes her happiest. When it comes to weddings and special occasions, Caitlin is the.dye.lot’s go-to girl for styling, including up-dos, braids and more. Make sure you check out our bridal portfolio for a glimpse of her fabulous creations.FUN FACT: Caitlin can make a mean pie crust — from scratch!
Olga's education and passion for hair was unleashed in her home country of Belarus, where she was blessed with a wonderful support network and amazing teachers. She received further formal training at one of the best academies in Moscow. From there, she studied under a stylist in Kiev, Ukraine who helped to further develop her understanding of colour and its application.
Olga recently followed her dream to attend cutting classes at the world-renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy in London. She has further plans to visit a stylist in Paris who is famous for his up-dos, an aspect of hair design she is particularly excited by. You can find Olga continuing to refine her skills, furthering her knowledge, and generally being in love with her art alongside her talented co-workers at the.dye.lot in North Vancouver, B.C.FUN FACT: She was born on Sunday so she believes Sundays are always happy days.
Master Stylist / Makeup Artist
The hair styling bug first bit Sergio as a teenager when he was asked to be a hair model in his hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico. His training and talents soon opened doors to working on big-name events such as the 2007 Miss Universe pageant, and was even featured in the TV special.
After moving to Montreal in 2008, he came west in 2012 and freelanced before settling down at the.dye.lot. A welcome addition to the team (not just because he was our first male stylist), Sergio has more than a decade of experience as both a hair and makeup artist. He sees a haircut as a form of therapy for people who want to start fresh and to feel good about themselves.FUN FACT: Salsa is his favourite dip and his favourite way to break it down on the dance floor.
The idea of being able to socialize, be creative and make people feel beautiful all at the same time appealed to Shae. So, she left her Okanagan home and enrolled in the Hair Art Design Program at the John Casablancas Institute, graduating in 2007.
Her idea of perfect hair—shiny, healthy Victoria’s Secret glamour waves and sun-kissed-California beach colour. She has a knack for creating styles that match your personality and lifestyle. She also enjoys cutting men’s hair, encouraging them to step out of the box and try new edgy styles.
When Shae isn’t in the salon she’s often spotted on top of Quarry Rock. Or, at BCIT feeding her appetite for knowledge.FUN FACT: Shae was born on Valentine’s Day and has a slight obsession with horror movies.
It’s not a stretch to say Vanessa has always been a bit colour cray cray. Not content to just experiment with her own hair colour (which changed monthly), Vanessa enrolled at Kelowna’s Marvel Hair College and turned her passion into a profession. Working at a salon called the.dye.lot seems an ideal fit.
Always fashion-forward, Vanessa enjoys working with a range of colour techniques and on long hair. She likes to put her own modern twist on classic hairstyles from the past and admits to being “obsessed” with the glamour of celebrity red carpet hair.
A stylist since 2008, she has her sights set on one day becoming a master colourist and an educator.FUN FACT: She has a collection of 100 90s troll dolls—must be the crazy multi-coloured hair!
This bubbly blonde is bursting with infectious charm and personality. After moving to Vancouver from Kitimat at thirteen, Melissa took two years of hair styling training during high school. She then refined her stylist skills at JoJi’s Hair Design Academy in Vancouver. Always keen to learn more, Melissa has attended a TIGI cutting class in New York, the international beauty show in Las Vegas, as well as training with Goldwell Colour.
She loves highlights, kid’s cuts and men’s cuts. She continues to expand on her skillset and aspires to learn the art of barbering. Get those beards ready, boys!
FUN FACT: She’s been a martial artist for 15 years—just call her “the hair ninja”.
A stylist since 2009, Anna is highly educated, graduating from the prestigious London School of Hair. Advanced training with Redken and Goldwell means she’s a pro at customized highlights and Keratin re-texturizing.
While sleek, chic bobs top her list of favourite haircuts to execute, she also specializes in long layering techniques, formal styles, and men's cuts.
Anna came a long way to join the.dye.lot in 2014. Born in Iran, she lived in Turkey before immigrating to Canada, adding a jet-setting flair to the team. She also brings a new skill set to our hair studio, threading. Now, you can have your eyebrows shaped or unwanted facial hair zipped away on a lunch break or while your colour is processing.FUN FACT: You’ll either find Anna hiking or shopping or hiking towards the shops.
Ann-Kathrin (aka AK) is a woman of many interests and skills. Her love of the colour world led to training as a make-up artist and graduating as a hair stylist from the John Casablancas Institute. She’s also a practitioner of holistic nutrition and passionate about nature and the environment so working at a Green Circle Salon and with sustainable beauty products is pure bliss.
AK’s talents as a colour “wunderkind” (that’s a nod to her being born in Germany) are most evident in the techniques that excite her most—from anything natural to balayage, ombré and colour melting, to neons and pastels. And, her barbering skills, including mastery of fades, have made her popular with male clientele.FUN FACT: She has aspirations of writing a book about integrating her many worlds of beauty, health and spirituality.
Georgia grew up on Bowen Island in a musical family, singing and playing music from a young age (she’s a former member of The Heels country trio). She also showed talent for styling hair, experimenting on her friends, while her sister—who is now a make-up artist—would do their make-up.
She got her start at the.dye.lot in 2016 as a stylist assistant while attending the John Casablancas Institute, graduating in early 2017 and joining the team later that year. The opportunity to work alongside and learn from her supportive fellow stylists is laying the groundwork for her to pursue her career goals: becoming a specialist in blonde and creative colours and, one day, working on hair in the TV and film industry.FUN FACT: A near-obsessed Friends fan, she can, and does quote from the show daily.

***** Vanessa was terrific! She spent a lot of time asking about my hair, what bothered me, what I'd like to have done. And best of all, she listened to what I was saying. - Carol Wagner
***** This haircut was for my six year old daughter. Lily did an amazing job! She took the time to give her a really good wash, cut, blow dry and style - a true diva experience for this grade 1 kid. - Anonymous
***** Had a wonderful time consulting with The Master and I just love my new cut. Looks even better today that it did yesterday. Thank you Allison...again. - Jane Still
***** I always look forward to my appointments at The Dye Lot because I know I'm going to come out of the salon with a terrific haircut worthy of a night out on the town!
